Contract Announcement....Virgin Cowboy

I'm thrilled to announce that Virgin Cowboy, the next story in the Carver Ranch series will be releasing August 17th, 2015 from Beachwalk Press. If you've read this series so far (and I really hope you have, it's a great series, read it!), then you'll be getting Braden's story. There will be one more story after this, and it will be Melissa's story which I hope to start writing this fall when the kids return to school. My kids have 9 days left of school. Eek!

1. Don’t even look at him. DON’T – especially if he’s shirtless. You don’t want to see that smooth and tan chest that will make your mouth water. Or that sexy smirk as his gaze travels your body.

2. Avoid listening to him, especially if he calls you darlin’. Once you hear his drawl, he’ll be able to smooth talk you into anything.

3. If he offers you a ride on his horse, say no. Otherwise you’ll feel his strong arms wrapped around you. You’ll inhale his woodsy scent. His mouth will be close to your neck, and with all the touching, you’ll find yourself craving him fast.

4. If he asked you to dance, it’s going to lead to more touching. As well as twirling. He might even whisper sweet words into your ears, hoping you’ll drop the wall around you and let him in.

She sipped through her straw, the liquid quenching a thirst she hadn’t realized she had. “So, let me get this straight—I’m offering myself to you, and you’re turning me down?”
He balled his hands into fists. “Yup.”
She glanced around. “Wonder if anyone else might want to…”
Her words trailed off because he now stood beside her. His hand wrapped around her neck and tilted her face up. “You will not be going home with someone else.”
Then his mouth found hers. Her eyes widened, shocked he was kissing her, but when she closed them, her mouth opened. Her tongue tangled with his. If she’d been turned on before, it was nothing compared to the flood that was building below the belt. She was ready to wrap her legs around his waist just so she could feel his hard erection against her, but doing that in the middle of Long Necks might not be appropriate.
His fingers tightened in her hair, and he kissed her harder. She clung to his arms, and he leaned her back farther in her chair. Hopefully she wouldn’t fall off the back of this thing. That would be embarrassing.
Tucker broke the kiss and stared at her with a longing in his eyes. “That was better than I expected.”
“Oh, yeah?” She looked around. “Is there someplace a little more private where we could kiss? Nothing more, I promise.”

Lauren giggled as Tucker pressed her back into the side of his truck. He nudged her legs apart and stepped between them.
“This is as private as I could get us.”
“I think you could’ve found somewhere else.” She tossed her hair behind her shoulder.
“This is safe.”
She curled her hands around his neck, and he knew he was a goner as her green eyes stared at him. Fuck. Why the hell had he wanted to keep this tame? He should be taking her back to his place, tying her to his bed, and having his way with her.
He claimed her lips with a greed he hadn’t been expecting. She moaned and tightened her grip on his neck. He dug his nails into her side as he pressed his cock into her stomach, making sure she knew what it was she did to him.
Her breasts were against his chest. Breaking the kiss, he trailed his lips down her neck so he could take a peek through the top of her blouse. Seeing her creamy breasts in the black bra, he groaned. Were her nipples hard for him? Damn, if they weren’t outside, he’d find out.
Lauren grabbed his face and brought his lips back to hers. Ah, a woman who knew what she wanted…and it was him. He placed both hands on his truck on either side of her body. It was best to keep them off her, or else he’d begin stripping her in the back parking lot of Long Necks.
She tangled her hands in the hem of his shirt, tugging it out of his waistband. If she touched him, this would be over. He’d haul his truck door open, lay her on the seat, and spread her legs apart. Her fingers caressed his belly button, teasing him as she dipped them a little lower then back up.
Okay, he had to stop this. He was about to spill in his pants like a thirteen-year-old boy who’d just seen his first nudie magazine.
He tore away from her, taking several steps back. Whatever they had between them, it was strong. He stared at her, her lips swollen from the passion.
“We’ve got to stop.”
She nodded. “I think you’re right. I don’t know what came over me.” She looked around, taking a deep breath.
“God, you’re so beautiful.”
“Me?”
“How could you not know? You’re perfect. I can’t find anything wrong with you.” He stepped closer.
“Complimenting me like that isn’t good. I might want to kiss you again.”
“No more kissing.”
“No more kissing.” She pushed away from the truck, adding more distance between them.

This fall, my first western romance will be releasing from Beachwalk Press. I'm very excited about this series and have been in edits with this story. I think we're in the last stretch on edits as it gets ready for the next editor. Then it's time for the galley read, and then the finished product. :) I can't wait for this one to be in e-retailers so readers' have a chance to visit Carver Ranch.

With it being September, I've been sitting down and looking at my writing schedule for the rest of the year. It looks like I will be dedicating most of it to Carver Ranch! I'm working on a short story (holiday themed) that will release around the same time time as Counting Cowboys. I'm also working out the outline for the next brother's book. His story is a little more complicated and I have his part figured out, I just haven't quite decided on the heroine. When you meet Nathan in Counting Cowboys, you'll learn he was once involved with a woman who he was sure he was going to marry, and it didn't work out. Hopefully I get this figured out soon and I can have it done and into my editor around November. The holiday season starts soon after that, lots of breaks with the kids out of school. I'm hoping--and it never really works--to take December off! Work on edits if they come my way, but no writing. We all need little breaks here or there, right?

Before I leave, how about a little excerpt from Counting Cowboys.

Lauren stared at the papers in front of her, but none of it registered. All she could focus on was the half naked man. The hot, sweaty, tanned man who was now naked in his shower only feet away from her.

She shook her head and rubbed her thighs. Enough. It wasn’t like Tucker was the first sexy man she’d seen. She wasn’t blind or innocent, but something about him got her panties moist quick. Hopefully, she could make it through this accounting meeting without ripping her own clothes off and offering herself up to him. She had no doubt he would be an awesome lover. The man worked with his hands all day; surely he knew a thing or two that could please her.

Seriously, enough.

Lauren straightened her back and stared hard at the stack of papers he’d given her. There were receipts, print outs, and such. Tucker seemed to keep good records, so this would make things easier. She removed her computer from her bag and turned it on. After she pulled up the file for Carver Ranch, she studied it once more to familiarize herself with it.

This was a profitable ranch. Last year had been one of their roughest years, but so far, this year was already better. She was sure once she started to fill in the stuff he’d supplied her with, she’d see they’d come back strong from the previous year.

“Everything there?”

Lauren jumped in her seat.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”

Tucker, now dressed, came over and sat next to her. Whatever soap he used attacked her senses in a good way. How did someone get out of the shower, yet still smell like fresh cut pines? She shouldn’t do it, but she did anyway. She let her gaze wander over his body. The black t-shirt he wore hugged his wide chest, letting her get the full view of muscles he had.

Lauren looked away quickly. “Yeah, I think this is it.” She flipped through the stack. “You’re free to do whatever while I do this. I know you’ve got a lot to do.”

“Can I get you something to drink?” He stood, and her focus went straight to his crotch.

Oh God, she glanced up quick to see him smirking. The man knew he was sex on stick with his sandy blond hair and blue eyes. “Do you have some tea?”

“Sweet?”

“Uh, yeah.”

He winked. “I’ll be back.”

“Take your time.” The farther away he was, the more she could concentrate on her work. She wasn’t sure what had come over her, but the sooner she got done with this job, the better. Then she wouldn’t have to see him again until next quarter.

New Contract! - Counting Cowboys!

I'm very excited that I recently wrote my first cowboy romance. Tucker, my first ever cowboys, is quite swoonworthy.

Spring Break is over, time to catch a cowboy!

In the Wolfe house, we just finished up spring break. The kids and husband are back to school/work, and it's just me again. It was a good break for us all. I took my author hat off, and spent most of my time with them. We had some family come visit for a few days as well. It was a nice break. Thankfully before break came, I got edits done on a few books, so now I can concentrate on writing.

I've started book 1 the my new series, Carver Ranch. The first book is titled Counting Cowboys. It's fun writing the first book in a series, because not only do you get to write a love story, but you begin setting up new characters. Each person you introduce, I get to decided if they'll have a roll in the series.

During this state, I take lots and lots of notes which include, their names, hair color, job, etc. It's what I call my series cheat sheet. You see, I didn't always keep one of these and it caused me to have to go back and open books I'd written to check something as simple as hair color. After almost 3 years published, I'm finally figuring a few things out to make my life a little easier.

So far, the writing flow is going well on Counting Cowboys. Recently I gave up a word count goal, so I'm just writing until the story is done. I hope to have this book done by June. School will be out soon, which means my writing time will be limited. This makes me wish I didn't procrastinate so much during the day when I have all this time to myself.

Guess what I'm getting ready to write?

In April, I'm going to start writing my first western romance series titled Carver Ranch. It's going to feature three brothers finding love and then the baby sister. This will be a four book series, and I can't wait to get started. I've got it outlines for the most part, just trying to tie up all the other books I've been working on before I dive into this series. I have a feeling once I dive into Carver Ranch, there won't be turning back. After all, who doesn't love a shirtless cowboy?
