Where's my bag? You know, my paper one to huff into to get me through this overwhelmingly awesome feeling?


I love having books release, because for me it represents the culmination of a lot of work. A. Lot. Of. Work. There's this amazing feeling seeing it all come together, knowing that it's out there and alive, and walking around in the imaginations of readers.


Psychic Seductions releases in less than a month (July 20th is the big day-woop woop). In the next few weeks the Beachwalk Press writers will go into overdrive with last minute preparations (kind of like getting ready for a big party), fussing and fretting--but also celebrating.

Getting Excited!

Summer is so fantastic. I live in Minnesota, so summer is a big deal for me. Summer means sunshine and hot days and sunshine and going to the beach and sunshine...yeah, I miss being able to enjoy the sunshine when it is soooo cold.


We put in a patio last year, and my favorite thing is to take my notebook out and write while my kiddos play. I inevitably get pulled into a soccer game, but I usually get a few words in. This summer I'm hoping to get some serious writing done:





Sequel to Poppy's Passions--SaraJean needs a story (don't remember SaraJean--go read Poppy's Passions again, I'll wait)


Something about Hawaii, because I'm fascinated with the island life lately (or I really, really need a vacation)


Something paranormal--I'm thinking werewolves because I like them. A lot.





And between the new writing, I'll be promoting up a storm and giving away a lot of great stuff, so keep an eye out for my part in the Psychic Seductions Anthology coming from Beachwalk in July. You need to be keeping up with Beachwalk authors this summer--the good reads and prizes are all over the place.

Cat Lady in the House

Hi there! I'm thrilled to be the newest Beachwalk Press author contributing to the Spicin' It Up Blog. I write sensual contemporary stories. This past year, Beachwalk published Sunny's Second Chance and Sunny's Hope, and coming right up I'll be part of the Psychic Seductions anthology with my story A Hint of Heaven. I am an unapologetic cat lady, and I include a cat in every story I write. Sunny owned Mr. Trix, and Muffin starred in a special way in A Hint of Heaven. In real life, I cannot imagine not having at least one feline in the house, and currently we have four. That works for us, since we live in the boonies, and our pets get to spend hours of perfect cat enjoyment hunting in the neighboring fields. Today, I thought you might like to meet my cat crew. Shadow and Doshia are brother and sister. They were born in our garage fourteen years ago when a feral mom cat took up temporary residence and then went her way.

Frisco and Maggie are just a year old. Also the offspring of a feral mother, they were given to us by friends who found four kittens in their garage as well.

It is just...so...pretty. New Cover!!

I'm one of those writers who likes to have their own thing going...but loves a fun 'call'. When Beachwalk Press put out a call for psychic romance short stories, I went, meh. That's not my thing. I don't find the topic all that interesting, so I shrugged it off and decided to wait for the next call.


But then I got thinking. And I kept thinking. In all of that thinking, Indy and Lee came to life. I would be humming and thinking, plotting, really, and someone would talk to me--I'd ignore them. My middle daughter understands me well--she put it best--"Mom is working. You can't see it yet, but she's working on a story."


Indy and Lee's story, Indigo Stars, combines a sassy leading lady who feels she's wandering without a real path and a leading man who's walked his path firmly and upright for a long time. Their psychic gifts, for better and worse, have contributed to their paths, and help the two unite.


You can meet Indy and Lee in Beachwalk Press's Psychic Seductions, due out in July!
