New Year!

It has been 2015 for an entire week. So far I'm still writing the wrong dates on my checks and other documents. I haven't lost the 20 pounds I need to lose this year, but I have managed to lose the back of an earring I got for Christmas.


I haven't found much luck in New Year resolutions, or any resolution I make, really, unless I make that resolution a new habit, and I'm not great with those. What can I say? I'm a thirty year old who doesn't like change. But this year will be great. Why? Because it will.


Writing-wise, good things are coming. Another novel in the Poppy's Passions series will be written this year. The box set of the Justice Fraternity Chronicles will release, and by golly, I just might write something new and exciting and...well I just don't know what it will be, but I'm pretty excited.


So, happy New Year! It is my sincere hope every reader finds amazing stories to read, and makes a few magical memories of their own.

New Year - Clean Slate!

A very Happy New Year to you all!

Now I have to confess, I'm not a huge fan of the beginning of a new year. I usually feel kind of lost after the Christmas frenzy has passed and my to-do list for the previous year is all complete. There's always that 'what now?' feeling once the decorations are taken down and the house looks bare without them. Forward thinker me then gets the desperate urge to make more lists. I need some kind of direction and focus for the future. So starts the list of plans for birthdays, holidays, and yes, even though it's January why not make that list of gifts you wish you'd bought for Christmas?

2014 is starting completely different for me this year. For a start I'm not looking at my living room and wishing we could decorate, because I woke up on January 1st armed with a paint brush for a much needed room make-over. As I write in my living room I'm very excited about this. My room is a clean slate in the same way as my plans for 2014. I also never usually make new year resolutions except the one where I intend to wear make-up more often. I have had this same one for over fifteen years and I have never achieved it. Also in 2013 I was still only dreaming of becoming a published author and 2014 begins with the tour of my second book Best Fake Day.
 



 So here are my goals for 2014:
1. To see this clean slate as a challenge.
2. To wear make-up more often and be aware that because I avoid mirrors in the morning it does not make me invisible to others during the school run. Rogers you do not look seventeen anymore!
3. To remember hats for bad hair days are lazy.
4. To spend less time googling bare chested men unless it's for research purposes.
5. To do more research ;-)
6. To always back-up files because that thing that will never happen does!
7. To get myself on the Beachwalk Press coming soon page.

You could say that this year is a work in progress. The thing about clean slates and blank pages is that they are just begging to be filled. So what do you have planned for 2014?

Happy 2013!

Wow! 2013? Do you know what that brings for me? I had a millennium baby, so that means this year I'll have a teenager. I was born in 1973. Can't do the math that fast? Let me help you... this August I'll be 40! Dear Lord! Let's talk about my writing goals instead.

 

 

 

I have several novels lined up and outlined. My sixth Beachwalk Press title will release sometime this spring. I'm very excited to dive into edits for Surrender to Me. Stay tuned for details.

 

I'm in the process of revisiting a book I started last January. It's a full length contemporary romance with some dark undertones. I have about 12k finished. It's tentatively titled Dancing Into Darkness. My heroine was a famous NYC ballerina who got caught up in a stormy relationship with the artistic director of the ballet company. It took her the length of her contract with the company to escape him. She relocates to a small Massachusetts shore town where she starts her own dance studio and falls for the sexy, local doctor. Of course, her hunky, jealous Russian ex doesn't stay away for long.

 

I'm also playing with a few novellas and I'd like to write another installment in the Make Me Stay/Surrender to Me saga. I have an idea for a couple that you'll meet in Surrender to Me. As you can see, I'm setting the bar high this year. If you're a reader of my work, I think you'll be busy;)

 

I'm happy to say, that with the support of my wonderful husband, I can finally call myself a full-time author. Now I need to go make the most of it. Being a writer has been my dream for most of my life. I'm thrilled I get to share my words with all of you.
