Moving The Goals

Happy Friday and welcome to my first post of the New Year!

I must admit I'm not a huge fan of January. It always seems pretty anti climatic after a hectic festive period in which there aren't enough hours in the day, or enough food. January often brings a financial overhaul, the urge to redecorate the now bare looking, unadorned room, and the influx of 'diet now' articles and adverts. I hid my favourite chocolates, so I can't possibly diet yet!

Last year I was hugely optimistic about 2014 and set myself goals and a list of New Year resolutions. Most of which didn't happen how ever hard I tried to achieve them. In theory they should. After all I'm a list maker and the forward planner of the family. I get twitchy about what's coming next. This time I'm starting the year in a different ways. I'm winging it. I have removed the goals and I'm going to see where it takes me. I figure if I hadn't focused so much on last years goals, I could've opened myself up to more possibilities without the virtual constraints of the goalposts. In theory this year there should be no failure and any achievements coming my way will be an added bonus. That's my only plan anyway!

Happy New Year!

Well, my goodness, what a start to 2012! I came out of my festive haze to a great review of Mia's Books, a contract to sign for my next book (Yipee, more on that very soon) and now a massive hurricane is blowing the country to bits!

Like Lacey talked about yesterday - I am also going to try and promote my own and other authors work more. When my very first story was released almost a year ago (Retail Seduction in Kinky Girls) I was terribly shy about the whole idea of promotion - but it's a fact of writing life - and we have to do it. Sometimes it just feels like you're talking about yourself - which I am blushing just thinking about, 'look at me!' - but how else will people ever know about what you do or are trying to sell if you don't shout about it?
