Today I'm here talking about inspiration and plot bunnies. As an author, plot bunnies are always welcome... unless I'm working on a story and it hits me so hard I have to stop what I'm writing and listen to the damn bunny.
This happened to me last week, I was driving in my mini-van and Sweet Dreams by Beyonce came on. The idea for a short, sexy, erotically driven story hit me. When I got home I started outlining my story.
Here's the video of Sweet Dreams:
Here's a brief summary of Sweet Dreams:
Olivia Clayton is a twenty-seven year old who is married to
her job. During the day she slaves away at her desk while she counts down the hours
until she can fall asleep once again and be joined in her dreams by her phantom
lover Aaron. Every morning she wakes up completely sated from a night of
passion that feels so real.
When Olivia's life is in danger will her two worlds collide in time for Aaron to save her?
Inspiration can be anywhere and creep up anytime. Go with it!
See you in two weeks!

I could do with some sweet dreams!
ReplyDeleteLOL, thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLove that plot bunny piccy! My WIP is at a standstill right now - going to let the inspiration in from somewhere today!
ReplyDeleteLouisa - you're not having nightmares are you? Oh no...
Wishing you luck!
DeleteI love it when that happens! It's frustrating to be pulled away from a WIP, but writing from pure inspiration is such a joy. You can't say no. Like your story idea!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like my mind is being pulled in may directions, but you just have to go with it.
DeleteLove the new idea.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Inspiration is everywhere! My problem is I get so much and don't have enough time. I'm trying hard to stick to the second book in my Beachwalk series, but all these other characters jump around in my head, shouting at me to tell their story. Sigh.

I completely understand. They need to learn to wait their turn! LOL
