Valentine's Treat! Love Again...

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the day us romance fans have all been waiting for, Valentine’s Day. Ahhh, smell the rose petals in the air...

And what better way to celebrate the day of love than with the launch of a new romantic anthology, Love Again. I’m very excited to tell you that three of our Beachwalk babes have stories in this collection and are here with me today, sharing their inspiration and perhaps a little snippet to whet our apetites.

Ladies, tell me what inspired your stories.

Vows

I wanted to tell a story about a woman who has lost her way both in her life and her marriage. Just when she is about to call it quits a tragic event happens and changes things. Sometimes we have to go on a journey and discover ourselves before we can change anything in our lives. I put a lot of myself and my life into Addison. I have two small girls and I lost a friend in a car crash. I swear Lisa is always there when I need her; she is my Guardian Angel in many ways. From the beginning I knew I wanted to write a Guardian Angel into this story. As much as I love Addison, Peyton stole my heart as I wrote her.

Wanted: Wife

In the Love, Again anthology, I wrote a short story titled Wanted: Wife. It’s one of those cheesy romance stories that everyone dreams of happening, but isn't something that usually does. Darcy is in between jobs and when she is checking the help wanted ads she finds an ad for someone wanting a wife. And before she knows what she's going, she is answering and meeting him for lunch. In return, the guy ends up being her crush from high school and the story begins. I can't say any one thing inspired for this story except romance all together. As readers, we read similar stories all the time and enjoy it, but I thought this one might throw in a monkey wrench and just be something different. Let's face it, now a days would you answer an ad in a paper for someone looking for a spouse? Heck No! That person is liable to be a killer. So my story is just a fun and light-hearted approach to how two people found love.

Where did my idea for Home come from? A picture, actually. I do this writing exercise where I look at a picture (usually of the erotic nature) and write a drabble. Sometimes it's no more than 1,000 words. This helps me to work out a steamy scene or write from the male POV.

When I saw the submissions call for The Love, Again Anthology, I knew I had a little story sitting on my hard drive. All I had to do was expand it a bit. The theme of the novel is finding a love lost. The second chance vibe intrigued me. I take us into the mind of Dr. Chase Avery. He's full of regrets and "what if's". When his high school sweetheart shows up on Valentine's Day, he's more than willing to make up for lost time. But, is it too late?

Addison Klein’s life is a mess, her marriage is falling apart and she just lost her best friend.

Just when she thinks she is all alone in making some major life altering decision, she gets a little guidance from her guardian angel.

Wanting to be a better example to her two little girls, she makes a decision that will change their lives forever when she sets out to seduce her husband.

Here is a peek:

Life isn't easy. Whoever said that it was is a fool. Just when you think things can't get any worse, they do. I’m sure my life looks perfect to others, I have a beautiful home, two wonderful girls, and a sexy husband. I am living the American dream. I should be happy, right?

Then why do I feel so empty, so numb? Life goes on, day after day. I see it moving around me; I just can't feel it. Don't get me wrong. I love my girls with everything I am. Tyler, my husband, is a different story. I do believe that I love him on some level. I’m just not in love with him anymore. When did it all fall apart? Was there any way to stop the downward spiral of my life?

I smile as I think of the one constant in my life: my best friend Peyton. She is my rock, my confidant, and my sanity. She is always there to pick me up when I fall. She is the eternal optimist. Her favorite saying is, “You sometimes have to change things within yourself before you can expect the things around you to change.”

Wanted: Wife by Lacey

Darcy White is between jobs and is about to lose everything she has. She reads the help-wanted ads every morning. Day after day, she fails at finding anything—that is, until one morning when she comes across an ad she finds intriguing. The help-wanted ad in the paper states that a man is looking for a wife. Before she knows what she’s doing, Darcy’s exchanging emails with him, agreeing to meet him for lunch.

Steven McDonald is looking for a wife in order to keep his family business, an apple orchard, as his grandfather told him that he couldn’t keep this orchard unless he got married. He gets the crazy idea to put a want ad in the paper. After a lot of nutty women respond, one e-mail comes through with a name that sounds very familiar: Darcy White. He was in love with Darcy in high school, but was too afraid to step away from the popular crowd to talk to her. He spent countless nights just thinking about her. Could this be his second chance?

From the moment they enter each other’s lives again, the chemistry is there. Steven believes that Darcy is even better than he remembered her. This is Darcy’s dream come true; she hopes that Steven might start to feel the same way about her as she feels for him.

Home by Ella

Dr. Chase Avery has worked hard to give his high school sweetheart and love of his life Elyse Jacobs the life she deserves, but in working toward their happily ever after, he missed out on the important things in life.
