Today our fangirl fix celebrates the Canadians. Meet Nathan Fillion, star of the epic one season show Firefly (Brown Coats Unite!) and currently ABC's Castle.

People who follow fandoms know the Firefly fandom is one of the most insane, er, loyal to its show and its writer Joss Whedon (who also created Buffy and Angel.) We'll follow Joss to the ends of the earth and all the while he'll rip our hearts out for our loyalty. Sadly Firefly only got one season on Fox because it got the axe due to low ratings, but perhaps this is what makes the space opera so magical. After its cancellation its popularity soared after we realized the awesome that we'd lost. I'm convinced it was born too soon. It later got a movie titled Serenity which tied up some of the loose ends for the fans.

Nathan has moved on to the ABC hit Castle, dragging along many in the Firefly fandom because we have to be where Nathan is. In the show they even work in some Firefly references time to time, because we're big dorks and feed off that sort of thing.
I admit to a raging crush on Stana Katic's hair. My god it's glorious!
And let's face it, as authors we all want a bit of Rick Castle in us--and yes you can take that however you'd like... ;)
