Naughty Forty? Hopefully!

Yes it's true, no matter how much I wanted to deny it, my fortieth birthday arrived this week. And what a busy week I had.
I donated my hair to Little Princess Trust who will use it to make wigs for children who have lost their hair because of cancer treatment, or alopecia. I can't remember ever having my hair so short. I think the last time was during my Adam and the Ants fan faze.
This was my hair before:
A small thing to do, but for a very worthy cause. To lose my hair was my decision, but for some people that decision is taken out of their hands and it can have a great impact on body image.

It was good to give something back after I had been given so many wonderful gifts. Not only did I have a great pair of roller boots, some gorgeous butterfly jewellery and various other lovely things, but I finally got my much needed and longed for laptop! Yes I can get back into writing, embrace my forty status and write some naughty!

Being forty isn't bad at all. I no longer worry about what people think of me and I don't take life so seriously. I reminisced over the 80's, which was the best decade ever! It was the years of anything goes and anything definitely went. Rara skirts, leg warmers and wearing odd fluorescent socks was considered the norm. Perfection and Speak and Spell games were the height of technology and Morten Harket from Aha was my intended husband. The 80's were the years I started reading romance and the movies then are still my favourite's today. The Lost Boys, The Goonies and Top Gun. Of course we had the Brat Pack movies too. Hands up everyone who attempted the famous Dirty Dancing lift and sang Bon Jovi songs into their hair brush?

So that's my favourite decade. Which one was yours? Have a wonderful weekend. I'm off to spend some time with new words.

  1. I still need my 80's tune fix at least a few times a week. Hubs teases me for it.
