Holiday Recipes: Lacey Wolfe's Mouthwatering Chocolate Pecan Pie

Growing up, we always had pumpkin pie and apple pie on the holidays. Year after year for Thanksgiving and Christmas those were the only pies ever served. So when I began hosting meals at my house a few years ago, I knew this was my time to break tradition. Now, I still do pumpkin pie and apple pie because that seems to be what everyone wants. However, I always add another pie or dessert to the mix—and not the same one each year! About 2 years ago, I made Chocolate Pecan Pie and it was a hit. It’s on my rotation again for this year, so I wanted to share this yummy pie with you as well.

Ingredients:
1 pie shell (9 inch)
3 eggs
2/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup halves pecans
1 & 1/2 cup chocolate morsels

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degree
Beat eggs, sugar, salt, margine, and corn syrup with a hand beater.
*Note: online recipes recommend adding the chocolate and pecans to this mix. I recommend you don’t! It makes a big mess and pecans and chocolates are un even on the bottom of pie shell.*
Spread the chocolate and pecans evenly along the bottom of the pie shell. The pour the mixture above over it.
Bake for 40-45 minutes. Then cool and eat!
