May Madness!
**Just before I start - I have a new release - Woo-hoo - my story I Am Matilda Jenks is out now in the Xcite anthology Tricks For Kicks - there's loads of good stuff in there so why not have a look?!**
Well my goodness, what a wild month we’re having and I’m not
talking the racy kind of wild – I’m talking weather. Today I have worn,
outside, a T-shirt (for about three minutes), a thick woolly jumper (then it
rained), so on went the jacket, and now I’m too hot in my waterproof coat but
every time I go to take it off, there’s another gust of wind and downpour.
What’s a girl to do? It’s like someone is standing around the corner with a
bucket of water just waiting till I’m brave enough to take off a layer…
UK spring. Wow. It’s crazy. I’ve been thinking about how the
seasons affect the themes in my writing. I think all in all, if I write in the
spring, my stories are set in the spring and autumn always has a dew covered
spider’s web creeping in. So if I have a
novel that’s taking longer than I would like to write, I will have to be extra
careful of my seasonality – ahem… if you’ve read any of my books, or are
thinking about it, maybe don’t check up (please…?) I’ve only just thought of
this!
That sound you’re hearing – that little thump, thump, thump,
- that’s the sound of me running off in a panic to check for seasonal
inconsistency in my current work in progress.
See you in a couple of weeks!

Congrats on the new release!
