I haven't been writing

It's time to fess up. I haven't written in weeks. I'm not feeling much like an author at the moment.

We are in the process of selling our home...which went much faster then we thought it would. We also just learned closing has been moved up, and we have yet to find our new home. Which means, we have to move in with my parents temporarily.  Every time we find a house we do like, its already been snatched up. This market is vicious where I live. Houses just don't last...which might explain why my house was only on the market a week!

Well, all that stress has literally zapped my creativity. I just can't concentrate. I'm 8k into the last book in the Hot Bods series, and my goal was to have it finished by now so it would hopefully release this year. But unless a creative bug bites me in the butt, that just might not happen. And since I haven't written, I feel like I am letting myself down. But then I sit back and realize, I already have some awesome releases lined up. Some hot and spicy stories to share. I'll be okay. And who knows, once we find our new home, the bug just might bite me and I decide writing is 10 times more important then packing. :)

So fellow writers, if your personal life is up in the air and a total mess, can you still write?

See ya next Monday,
Lacey

  1. I write more when everything else is in shambles, the craft becomes a welcome distraction.

Definitely don't get discouraged though, you've got a lot of fun things coming up. Don't write because you feel you need to, just do it as therapy to forget about rich jerks paying cash to steal the houses from under us. I went through the same thing and I gave up. All the houses I could afford to buy, people were paying with cash and I could't compete. Lame!

  2. Lacey, I sure can relate. Sometimes the creativity well just runs dry. I'm sure it will come right back as soon as you don't have so much on your plate. Relax and enjoy!

  3. Hey Lacey - you'll get back to the words, don't worry. Life has a habit of taking over doesn't it? But as writers, we use it all! Good luck with everything x x
