Making Stuff Up...

Well, today it seems my writer's block has even extended as far as my blog entry... I was just on the edge of composing an email to the other Spicin' It Up gals to see if they wanted to step in. But then, I thought - NO! You must push through and get over this. So here I am, telling you all about it.

I don't know how many of you have encountered this feeling but it is truly annoying. Last night, I had my writing day all planned out - I would do my hour's housework, then blog, then a steamy chapter of my next novel, then one of those 'lady trips' to the doctors, then pick up kids, dinner, tv, bed. Simple.
And yet, there I was staring at the screen, fingers poised, and nothing. When I tried to blog, my mind was on my novel. When I tried to write that, it was on my blog.

I should know myself by now - if it won't come, it won't come. I need to have a starting point that my imagination is happy enough with that when I get to the keyboard, the idea will take flight. I have to trust my subconscious to know when I'm ready.

The problem is - my subconscious doesn't always want to follow my scheduling!

So whatever you're up to today - I hope it goes smoothly.
May your minds always canter and your fingers always sprint!
Love Tabitha x x

  1. It seems like when I'm free to write, I don't have it. BUT, give me edits and a million things to do and all I want to do then is write.

Your not alone. And thanks for blogging about it.

  2. When I don't have the time to write, that's when I get my best ideas. I think it's because the pressure is off. If the situation prevents me from writing, it's no longer a "have to."
