Tuesday Smiles - A few jokes

My Aunt Sue is known for her love of activity. Anyone who invites her out usually get a enthusiastic “Yes!”

One day her husband, Uncle John, went outside and got in the car.

“Wait!” she yelled as she rounded up the kids. She quickly ran a brush through her daughter’s hair and changed her son’s shirt. Then she grabbed her purse and they raced out the door.

As Uncle John  waited wordlessly, she buckled the kids in the back seat and collapsed in the front one. Smiling at him, she said, “Okay, let’s go!”

He took the car out of park and drove it into the garage.

My sister is well known for her pessimism. When she announced she was taking a vacation to a sunny climate, the entire family was hopeful it would lift her spirits.

A week after she left, we received a postcard from her. Printed on one side was a photo of an idyllic beach underneath a golden sun, and next to it, she had written: Take a few minutes to look at that beautiful sun.

We gazed at it, marveling that a few days on the beach had obviously mellowed her. Then we turned the card over.

On the back, she had written: I’m glad you enjoyed looking at the sun for a few moments. That’s longer than I’ve seen it.
