  1. The aroma of cinnamon tickled her nose as Persephone inhaled the savory spices of autumn. She and Shawn walked hand-in-hand down the leaf-strewn path.
The wind kicked up her hair, sending the copper curls flying in all directions. She turned her face up, the sun's waning rays heating her flesh. Her gaze caught his. He smiled. Desire snaked its way through her. He halted mid-stride, using their linked hands to pull her to him.
The impact sent her senses reeling, and her impetus rocked him slightly off-kilter. He couldn't catch himself and they tumbled to the forest floor, the leaves cushioning their landing as she half-sprawled on top of him. They laughed, her hair curtaining them off from the rest of the world.
Suddenly his expression sobered and his arms moved from her back to cup her face. Their lips met. Soft at first, but shifted quickly to hard and passionate.
He rolled her beneath him, hear head on his arm. His free hand roved back down her body, caressing her breast through her heavy sweater, before slipping to cup her derriere as his tongue danced with hers.
His arousal pressed against her thigh. Desire pooled low in her belly. She wrapped her leg around his, bringing him in contact with her core. She gasped. He kissed her again; long drugging kisses that stole rational thought.
The sound of a snapping twig behind them brought her head up.
    "What was that?"
