Sorry about taking the liberty with the song title. I'm sitting her at my computer at 10.49pm on Friday night thinking about what to share...
Then it occurred to me, I've just come back from watching a most amusing play here in town.
The whole story was one boy who is very sure of himself - for all the worst reasons. By the end though, the hero and the heroine had fallen for each other (well, maybe not love, because the story is about two school aged children) and drama triumphs over sport.
It occurs to me, that sometimes we focus on the hard muscled guy as the hero of our stories, leaving the cerebral types to languish...
Well, maybe not all the time, but I think you get my meaning.
I like a buff guy, but I also like my men (heroes) to be thinkers and doers. Take for instance, Tomi Ito from my upcoming book, Executing Justice. Sure he's a planner, and super intelligent. He's also the Senior Senator for Reunion.
This is a family of over achievers who marry partners who are also at the top of their game.
I thought I'd leave off tonight with a tiny snippet of Executing Justice - out June 16 2014.
Blurb:
The end game is looming, but whether the last of the Ito family will find his happily ever after is in the balance.
Tomi Ito must deal with the knowledge that the woman he's loved forever, Gillian Edgemont, thinks he's abandoned her in her time of need. But when he's abducted, she's there to help save him.
Gillian is running from the wreck of her life and the unrequited passion she holds for her former boss, Senator Tomi Ito. When he follows her to Vega II so does the danger that's been dogging the Ito family.
As the finale looms, does it include a future for Tomi and Gillian? Or will it all turn to ashes?
