Let's start off by saying I'm a bit obsessed by the BBC's family show Doctor Who. For anyone unfamiliar with it, here's a quick overview. The Doctor travels space and time in his TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) which looks like a little blue police phone box from 1950s Britain (but it's bigger on the inside.) He saves planets and the universe time again using his intellect and a handy dandy sonic screwdriver. He considers books as the greatest weapon in the universe, when he's close to death he regenerates into a new body and there have thus far been 11 incarnations of the Doctor (or you could argue 12 thanks to show runner Moffat's devious writing.) AND the show has ran for fifty years.
Matt Smith followed the very popular and quite charming 10th Doctor David Tennant, and while David's traditional good looks were easy on the eyes, I of course fell for the awkward and gangly Matt Smith. The man who was told to take his jacket off between takes so he wouldn't get it dirty so he therefore accidentally laid it in a glass of grape juice. How could I resist such a man?
After three years playing his role as the Doctor, he'll be leaving the show on Christmas day. The sadz and feelz will flow in rivers and I'll be sobbing on Christmas. He'll be regenerating into the 12th Doctor played by Peter Capaldi. Though I'll love the Doctor as I've always love him, after all he's the same man but with a different face and personality, I'll be losing my TV boyfriend Matt Smith. *sigh* Break ups are so hard.
